Arthropods (Arthropoda)---Insects (Insecta)----Net-winged flies (Neuroptera)
Net-winged flies consist of many long, thin insects with delicate net-veined wings. The most commonly seen type of Neuropterid is the Green Lacewing. The most beautfiul kind of insect in this family, the butterfly-like Pleasing Lacewings (Bugguide link) are unfourtunately not found in Alberta, and are the only kind of Neuropterid to spreadwings characteristically at rest.
